The Top Quality Da Vinci Lucerne Rollerball Pen is Put to my 3000 Word Challenge

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

Today I have been testing the very attractive Da Vinci Lucerne Rollerball Gift Pen. Every day I write 2000 plus words with a popular promotional gift pen. I give honest reviews that I hope will help you find the best promotional gift pens for your next promotion.

Over the years I have sold a few thousand Da Vinci rollerballs but as we live in a computer dependent world I rarely write a lot with them, tending to lean toward the convenience of my laptop. That is of course aside from the multiple notes and messages I jot down daily.

Over the course of today, I have written four blogs and a few memos with the Da Vinci Lucerne Metal Gift Pen, far exceeding my 2000 word goal. I have not been disappointed but for a small complaint which I will touch on later.

Writing over 2000 words with one promotional gift pen over the course of the day, you get to know your writing instrument quite well and I am happy to say I have finally managed to do this with the Da Vinci Lucerne Rollerball!

This smooth writing rollerball is a pleasure to write with! It is both quiet and feels heavy and good in the hand like a top quality writing instrument should. When you are finished writing, the cap clicks right back into place.

The writing line is quite thick which many people prefer. It is a solid line that you only get from pens that are fitted with top quality refills.

Now lately I have been testing quite a few pens by Cross and I can assure you that the Lucerne gift pen holds its own. Although the Da Vinci Lucern gift pen is not a budget pen you can expect to pay substantially less than the equivalent Cross pen.

The Da Vinci Lucerne can only be engraved as ink will not adhere to the shiny, highly polished chrome finish. It is therefore important to consider this if you have a large logo or a lot of information you want on the pens. When engraving on the pen you are limited to a 30mm x 7mm engraving area. This is sufficient space for a small logo or web address.

After spending the day writing with this impressive gift pen I only have one small complaint. The cap that fits so well when the pen is not being used does not click into place when the pen is in use. It sits their comfortably but will fall off if you turn the cap toward the floor.

That is no reason not to consider this innovative and stylish gift pen!

Given all the positives such as the excellent writing quality, the attractive design and finish and the fact that it is supplied in a good quality gift box, you owe it to yourself to ask for a sample and try the Lucerne Rollerball.

The Da Vinci Lucerne Rollerball Gift pen is guaranteed to impress.

Promotional Engraved Pens for Christmas-Important Information for Perfect Promotions

Engraved promotional pens

At promotionalpens.co.uk we specialise in engraving promotional gift pens

Have you ever received an engraved executive gift pen? Promotional gifts do not come much better.

Engraved metal gift pens promote brands like few gifts can. Pens are needed and used daily. Metal executive pens are usually kept for years promoting your business all along the way!

As Christmas is quickly approaching, I want to give you a few tips along with some valuable information about what to consider when using good quality metal pens as Christmas and end of year gifts.

Promotional executive pens have been popular Christmas gifts for clients and employees for decades. In the old days this was done by a high speed rotating cutter that achieved magnificent results. This high quality engraving process was usually followed by hand-filling the engraving with an infill colour: this process was a true art in itself.

The main problem with these traditional engraving machines was that they were quite slow and setup times were long. This made engraving promotional metal pens a timely and expensive process.

Nowadays, laser engraving has become the norm. Laser engraving has improved immensely in the past few years. You should ask for a sample to see the quality for yourself as you will not be disappointed!

There are some major advantages to laser engraving pens.

  • The engraving process is much faster
  • Laser engraving is perfect for fine detail
  • Setup times are faster and therefore less expensive
  • Small and large orders can be accommodated

So whether you are buying promotional engraved pens for the masses or just a few top customers, laser engraved pens will work perfectly. It is important to note, however, that with laser engraving you are limited to the base colour of the pen though the engraving can be blackened on some pens if necessary to achieve the best results.

While you are considering what to engrave on your gift pens, I would like to leave you with some design advice.

One of my customers took months to choose his metal pens and design for engraving. Unfortunately he did not discuss the design with me first and we had to make some quick last minute changes.

When engraving, you need to try to keep your designs quite simple and in line of site. You do not want to have a design that wraps around the pen because it is not possible. Always check the engraving area before going to work on your design and you will save yourself time and money.

Have you ever given away engraved executive pens for Christmas or another event? How did it go? Why not share your experiences or thoughts by leaving a comment.

Promotional Pens Promote Like no Other Promotional Items

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

When you think of a promotional gift what immediately comes to mind? Nine times out of ten, the first thing you are going to imagine is a promotional pen with a company’s logo, motto, and contact information. Look in your pen jar right now. How many of them are marked with brand names and logos? Can you remember where they came from or who gave them to you? If the pen was given to you directly from the company it advertises, you most likely can remember. That is the power of the promotional pen.

The pen is the most recognized star of the promotional gifts industry, but it has evolved from the original cheap ballpoint. It has transformed into a high quality writing utensil. Some ink pens are stylish or artistic or funky. Some are ergonomically satisfying with squishy finger rests. Some even have a bit of weight to them, signaling a very high quality pen.

The promotional pen is a classic gift that will remain an efficient marketing tool for its eternal efficacy – at least until the human race invents a “space age” writing utensil.

The promotional pen has three major marketing qualities that keep it the number one classic on the promotional gifting list.

1. “Brand at hand”

Keep your brand name continuously in the hand of your prospective clients. With a pen, your information is readily available when it’s needed.

2. Inexpensive

Pens are especially inexpensive and the perfect starting place for a brand new promotional gift campaign.

3. Always useful

How many times a day do you pat your various pockets in search of a pen? People are always in need of pens. Provide your prospects with a necessary tool that they no longer need to purchase and they’ll be grateful to your brand name. Plus, you can count on your gift being used for at least a year, according to the PPAI. It is unlikely that a high quality pen will be thrown out, but rather borrowed, stolen, or passed along – all sources of effective exposure for your name.

Practically every large company uses some sort of promotional gift in their marketing campaigns. Starting with promotional pens to jump-start your marketing campaign is an inexpensive and classic route to take. Get your brand name into your prospect’s hands by designing your ideal pen today!

Your Customers will Love Promotional Metal Gift Pens

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Sometimes it is good to sit back and think of those who have helped make your business the success it is today. Often it is easy to forget those who have been loyal to your business while actively looking for and seeking out new customers. Why not make today the day you begin to rekindle some of those old, important relationships and let your good customers know just how much they mean to you. For relatively little spend, promotional metal gift pens can help you to rejuvenate those tired relationships and renew your commitment to the customers that mean so much to you.

Promotional metal gift pens are usually handed out in person. Imagine handing your favourite customers a top quality metal pen. Can you see their smile and the suprize in their eyes? This is the reaction top quality gifts such as Parker, Cross and Lamy metal gift pens will bring. It is also the reaction that will help ensure your customers remain loyal to you.

The great thing about top quality promotional pens is that they do not need to be purchased in large quantities. This means you can often purchase as few as 25 or even 10 engraved with your logo. The unit price may be a bit higher than other gifts but the fact that you do not need to purchase hundreds will help keep the price down.

If you want to achieve maximum impact, ensure that the pens you purchase are supplied complete with good quality pen cases. The top brands such as Parker, Cross, Waterman and Lamy supply their pens in gift boxes as standard. If you are looking for something less expensive, you will want to ensure that the pen is either supplied in a nice pen case or that your supplier can source one for you. Pens supplied in good quality cases look better and make the presentation of your gift that much nicer.

If you are not a pen connoisseur, I recommend ordering a few samples.  At promotional pens.co.uk, we would be happy to assist you with samples and we can also recommend nice pens for your business requirements.

Introducing 5 Ways to Personalise Promotional Metal Pens

Monday, May 10th, 2010

You can now purchase promotional metal pens quite inexpensively.  The less expensive options are usually quite light in the hand compared to more expensive name brand metal pens such as Parker, Cross, Waterman and Lamy.  They are, however, superior in quality to promo plastic pens.  If you have decided to use promotional metal pens to promote your brand, you should consider how you want to personalise them.  Below I list five of the most common ways.

Screen Printing

Most inexpensive metal pens can be screen printed one or even a few colours.  This looks fantastic and at promotionalpens.co.uk we specialise in printing metal pens.  We would be happy to supply you with samples of work we have done.  If metal pens are not left to dry long enough before being packaged, the ink will not set and will eventually scratch off. This is why it is important to use a company that knows what they are doing.

Laser Engraving

Some inexpensive metal pens as well as higher quality metal writing instruments can be laser engraved.  When done, the base metal is revealed.  This looks good if the base metal is dark but if it is bright gold as it is in brace based pens the logo and details can be difficult to read.

Mirror Engraving

When the pens are engraved, a matching bright substrate is revealed which provides a mirror effect finish.  This method of engraving is slightly more expensive than laser engraving but the affect is eye-catching to say the least.

Pantone Matching

Some gift pens can now be supplied in small quantities Pantone matched to your company colours.  There was a time when you would have had to purchase thousands of pens to have them match your Pantone.  Now you can purchase as few as 100 with some styles. Ask us for details.

Full Colour Printing

Very few metal pens can be printed in full colour.  If you require this service, ask you supplier and they should know where to get their hands on them.  Personally, I love full colour process printed pens and feel everyone should look at them before placing a bulk order.

The best place to find excellent deals and a large variety of metal gift pens is promotionalpens.co.uk.

Promotional Pens For Promoting your Estate Agency

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Use promotional pens for promoting real estate offices at meetings, convention show booths or at open houses. When you affix your company name or message to promotional merchandise, it remains as long as that item is in use. Good quality pens have a very long lifespan and are one of the least expensive types of promotional merchandise that can be ordered.

Good quality promotional plastic pens can be purchase well under 50p per item. Even fancier promotional metal pens are very affordable, with many priced between one and two pounds for simpler styles. Boxed pen sets and higher quality metal pens can be pricier, they will be used daily promoting your business. The main point with all promotional merchandise is that the imprint works as long as that item is in use.

Using promotional pens for promoting estate agencies is an excellent, affordable and popular idea. Banks, hair salons, motor vehicle dealers and other businesses use them because they work well to promote a business. Estate agent offices are no exception and the imprinted pens will go home with prospective clients and current customers to be used for a long time. It is no surprise to learn that many women will carry three of four personalized pens in their purses. Pens are always needed, even in this era of texting and emailing

Use eco friendly gifts like plastic pens made from recycled plastics. The “green” products send an unwritten message that your company cares about the environment at the same time these gifts continue to promote your business around the clock.

Promotional plastic or metal pens come in many colors, sizes and shapes. There are additional 3D icons that can be attached to the top of the pens. A small house shaped attachment would be appropriate for a real estate office to use in their marketing to customers. For corporate gifts, use elegant gift boxed sets of pens or pen and pencil combinations. These attractive gift box sets are ideal for reaching the high end buyers of more expensive homes.

The imprint used on pens is just like the imprints that are found on other gifts such as promotional clothing or sports water bottles. Pens, although small in size, do offer a very long and visible area for imprinting contact information, such as your telephone number, web address and name. A unique message can also be added. Try something humorous for smile appeal.
