Friday, May 27th, 2011

promotional zig zag pens

The Zig Zag colour range

Promotional plastic pens are the backbone of the promotional merchandise industry.

You don’t need to look very far to find a good selection of promotional plastic pens. They are everywhere. In banks, restaurants, retail outlets and gyms, these promotional items are there for the taking.

Why do you think that might be?

The reason is obvious… Promotional plastic pens are a proven way to successfully promote your business, organisation, church or club. They literally get your logo and message into your target customers’ hands.

Some promotional plastic pens are more popular than others which means you will come across them more often. These are the good quality pens that offer an excellent return on the advertisers’ investment.

Others are not very good quality and I tend to stay clear of them.

Still others, are new on the market and also offer exceptional value for money. These are the promotional plastic pens that you might like to consider while they are still new and stylish for the times.

I would like to introduce you to the new Zig Zag pen.

Before promoting a pen at promotionalpens.co.uk I always write with it first. I test it for quality while considering also how much it costs.

The Zig Zag pen wrote exceptionally well for a low cost plastic pen. I invite you to request samples so that you can see for yourself. The pen is attractive and therefore eye-catching. It has a large print area of 40mm x 20mm for your logo and details.

No it doesn’t write as well as more expensive plastic brand name pens such as Klio, Prodir and Senator Pens but for some large marketing campaigns or organisations on a tight budget, they could be perfect.

Zig Zag pens are available with a white barrel and a choice of six striking trim colours. The ink colour is black.

I am really excited about the new Zig Zag pen and have therefore decided to offer it at special low prices for the foreseeable future. Ask for a sample today and see if it is the right pen for your next marketing campaign!

Promotional Pens Keep Your Message Alive

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Promotional pens are ideal for promoting businesses and/or organisations to your current customers on a long term basis or just when you want to promote some current news. Using the right pens could inspire people to want to do business with you. In the current economic climate, it is more important to get it right than ever before. Handing out good quality pens will say loads for your brand. Handing out cheap biros could have the opposite effect.

Logo printed pens are used in the office daily. If you have customers who are visiting your work premises it is a good idea to hand them some promotional pens printed with your logo and details to take away with them. But don’t just hand them any pen!

There are a lot of budget stick pens on the market that look OK and write for a while but these are not pens that will promote you well in the long term. I usually recommend cheap stick pens to people who are on a very limited budget – promoting a charity or organisation.

Those of you who are actively promotion a business may want to look for better quality writing instruments. There are some fantastic bargains out there for promotional plastic pens that could promote you business for months if not over a year.

You will not want to place an order before you have checked out the pens produced by Prodir Pens and Senator Pens. These two European pen manufacturers produce some very eye-catching pens that write for months and look fantastic.

There are also quite a few generic options available to you. Some are very good quality while others are lacking. At promotionalpens.co.uk we would be happy to offer you advice and send you samples of the pens that will work best for your business.

When you give your customers promotional pens that they enjoy writing with, you are giving them a product that will keep your logo and message right in their hand.

While you are searching our site, why not look for pens that can be manufactured to order in the colours of your choice. Pen manufacturers like Prodir Pens and Senator Pens offer mix-n-match services that allow you to choose the barrel and trim colours of your promotional plastic pens to better compliment your corporate branding.

We would be very happy to assist you in finding the best promotional pens for your business. Why not give us a call today on 01642 782455!

Promotional Plastic Pens vs Promotional Metal Pens- A Look at Both

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
Promotional metal pens

The Electra aluminium pen is low cost and looks great!

Often I receive enquiries from people who are not really sure which type of promotional pens to purchase for their company or organisation. There are a lot to choose from – brand name pens and fashionable generic pens – metal and plastic promotional pens. I like to recommend looking at a few options rather than just purchasing off the page so that you can really get a feel for what you are purchasing. That said, let’s look at some of the different types of pens – namely plastic pens and metal pens that could be of interest to you.

Promotional Plastic Pens

Just because a promotional pen is manufactured out of plastic does not mean it is necessarily cheap. Some of the most popular promotional plastic pens are indeed considered to be – and are – executive giveaways that carry with them a great reputation and a high perceived value. Don’t steer away from plastic just because you are worried about how some people may perceive them!

Parker Pens, for example offer the Parker Vector Rollerball pen and the Parker Jotter pen.  Both of these promotional plastic pens are also available as metal pens but it is the plastic versions that really sell!

Lamy Pens – a popular pen manufacturer in Germany also supply a nice range of executive plastic pens.

Generally speaking, if you hand someone a cheap plastic pen that you are not proud to hand out, they probably will not use it much. Such plastic pens, however, are perfect for one day events and they are very popular with charities and banks that have a large audience to consider.

If you are purchasing personalised plastic pens for a small business you will want to look at some of the pens either by the before mentioned companies or possibly less expensive but very good quality pens by Senator Pens and Prodir Pens.

You could also consider printing your logo and details onto good quality generic pens.  These tend to be less expensive and many offer great value for money.

Promotional plastic pens that write smoothly, are nice to hold and look good will get used and promote your business for what could be a long and successful promotion.

Promotional Metal Pens

Metal pens have a higher perceived value though they are often less expensive the plastic options. If would like to give your customers promotional metal gift pens but you are on a tight budget you should check out our anodized metal pens such as the new and very popular Electra Metal Pen. the Clio Metal pens and the infamous Calypso metal pen.

Anodising is basically a process that allows aluminium pens to be coated with a accelerated oxide layer which increases the hardness of the aluminium. The finish looks absolutely spectacular!

The resulting metal pens are much less expensive than they look. These pens can be printed or engraved with excellent results.

If you are looking for more expensive promotional metal pens, you cannot go wrong by choosing the brands that are known for their stylish designs and attention to quality such as Parker metal pens, Cross pens, Waterman pens and the UK’s new favourite Lamy!

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or if you would just like a quick quotation or sample on 01642 782455.

Express Promotional Prodir Pens for Those Last Minute Promotions

Monday, February 28th, 2011

There are a lot of different promotional pens that can be ordered and printed in a hurry. Until recently, promotional Prodir pens were not one of them.

These top quality plastic promotional pens are loved worldwide. They feature extra large ink refills for smooth writing and long writing life. In fact, Prodir guarantees that their pens have a writing life of at least 5000 meters.

That is just over three miles! Not bad for a plastic promo pen.

Prodir is famous for its long lead-times. That said, they have improved significantly in recent years and can now print and deliver their pens in about a week to ten days.

Do you need your promotional Prodir pens faster?

Prodir pens are so popular that the best promotional pen suppliers now keep some models in stock and can turn them around in just a couple of days.

You will need to stick to the colours they have in stock but if you really want Prodir pens fast you can now get them fast.

I would say that the majority of pen orders I see are for express delivery. Perhaps this is due to the fact that when people are sourcing pens online they expect such service.

That is great but if you really want to get the most for your money, you may want to allow yourself more time.

Promotional Prodir pens look fantastic when printed on the barrel and clip. You can also ask for special options when you allow more time and have them made to order.

Services such as mix-n-match colours where you can choose the colours of the clip, barrel and even decorative trim colours are very popular. This can make your Prodir pens look like they were made with your company in mind.

You can also request full colour print on some styles and metal nose cones that make the pens slightly heavier. The end result is quite spectacular.

I recommend looking at all of the Prodir pen styles and personalisation options that are of interest to you.

If time is not on your side, however, you can rest assured that there are some companies out there that can supply promotional Prodir pens fast!

Any good supplier will be happy to send you samples. These samples can even be specially made in your company colours if time allows. It is definitely worth your time to check out the complete range.

Make Your Trade Show Booth A Success With The Right Promotional Gifts

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

If you rely on trade shows for a good part of your sales leads you already know that promotional giveways are now the norm, not the exception.

Everyone is vying for the attention of potential customers with some sort of promotional trinket that they hope will embed the name of their outfit in the brain of its recipient. When choosing promotional products to hand out it is important to keep two things in mind- usefulness and exclusivity.

Having attended and participated in many trade shows I can attest first-hand how the excitement level wanes with each promotional pen and promotional key ring I am handed. Unless I am given such an item that is truly unique and interesting (ooh, this pen is also a laser pointer) it gets tossed in a bag that sits in a corner until it gets used sometime in future.

The best place to start with a trade show promotional giveaway is with something big, inexpensive and a bane to all of your competitors that see it (and they will).

A nice-sized promotional tote bag capable of holding all the other promotional giveaways people will receive during the course of their visit is a great idea. A good sized bag will also sport a good sized logo that will be seen all over the event, greatly increasing the awareness of your brand.

Also, there is something to be said about knowing how bothered your competition will be when someone trots in to their area toting your promotional bag. Promotional tote bags can be very inexpensive and are available in both standard and recycled green materials.

Now that you have your bag it’s time to choose a pen to lay out on the front table for anyone to take. Don’t break the bank with this, you want to reserve the bulk of your budget for your premiere promotional gift, we’ll get to that later.

Choose a promotional pen by it’s combination of attractiveness, ease of use and price. There are many unique promotional pens that write well and are reasonably priced, your promotional gift supplier can help you find a promotional pen that meets these requirements.

Promotional key chains and promotional fridge magnets are similarly priced alternatives that work just as well. If your trade event is open to the general public there will most likely be children in attendance with their parents. Kids love promotional balloons, even more so when they are filled with helium and tied to their wrist or stroller.

This is your opportunity to expose your brand at eye level during the entire course of the show. I can’t tell you how many times I have been thanked for placating a fussy child by handing them a balloon. One thing to note about ordering promotional balloons- make sure the information is printed as large as possible, otherwise you run the risk of having a small logo that is illegible from more than a meter away.

And now, the premier promotional gifts, the ones that will rise to the top as cream does with milk. The premier promotional items do not have to be terribly costly, only extremely useful, interesting and/or a good representation of your organization. These are not to be handed out liberally, only to current valued customers and people who spend some time in your booth that seem legitimately interested in your services.

Promotional stress toys are great trade show giveaway items that have the potential to represent your product or service in a very personalised way.

Promotional mousemats are always welcome and useful. The promotional mousemat has a very large printing area for displaying as much information as you see fit. Promotional water bottles can keep people cool while displaying your brand.

They won’t be throwing away the promotional mug you hand them anytime soon.

These are but a few examples of what is available to you for your trade show branding campaign.

Promotional Pens Work Wonders for Promoting Businesses

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Promotional pens are some of the best promotional tools for business promotion. Do you want to use them to effectively promote your brand? You are only limited to your own imagination.

Logo printed pens have been used for decades as selling tools for both existing and new customers. When you give away a good quality plastic or metal pen, people realise that you have gone to some investment to promote you company. They will keep them for as long as they write well and not toss them in the bin as they would less useful and unwanted advertisements.

Promotional pens act as a brilliant introduction to potential clients. But it should also be noted that pens have a way of changing owners. They get passed on, usually unintentionally from person to person reaching even more people than your original contact.

If you are managing a retail business, be sure to set a pen pot on the counter with your logo printed pens in it for customers to take and remember you by.

If you promote your business to the general public, think of all the places you have been and might have needed a pen. Leave some of your promotional pens in banks at the counter and near the register at super markets, shops and restaurants.

It could also be a good idea to establish good relationships with other businesses and organisations. Offer a number of promotional pens to your local hospital, pub, school and market. Anywhere people need pens, get your pens into their hands!

Most promotional plastic pens can accommodate at least three lines of text and a logo. Be sure to get your most important information onto the pens first such as your business name, telephone number and web address. These details will help entice people to visit your website or give you a call.

Trade shows, exhibitions and graduate fairs are all excellent places to give away your free promotional pens. Offering prospects a nice pen or two can help set your business apart from those who simply hand out their brochures and business cards.

Personalised logo Pens not only promote your corporate information but they are a useful product that people will want to keep, usually on their desktop where your information will be seen regularly.

Order good quality pens that write smoothly and look good will achieve the best results. Order samples today to find the best pens for your business.

Promotional Pens- What You Can Expect And What To Avoid

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Promotional pens have been used as giveaway items since the middle of the last century and have been proven over and over to be a very effective marketing tool. Small and inexpensive, they can be carried on one’s person dozens at a time, ready to hand out at a moments notice.

Consider the promotional pen as a business card with a purpose, every time a promotional pen is used the brand upon it is seen and reminds it’s user where it came from. This article will be a brief but informative discussion of promotional pens and how they are best utilised.

If you have made the decision to jump in to the promotional products pool by ordering promotional pens, congratulations- you have made the first step in increasing your brand awareness.

The biggest mistake you could make at this point in the process is haste- ordering something just because it’s cheap, looks okay and hey, a pen is a pen, right? Wrong.

You may think you saved a great deal of money by choosing a pen on price alone, but when you hand your promotional pen to someone and it gets tossed in the bin after its first (attempted) use, you have not only NOT saved any money, you have in fact wasted every pence you invested in your promotional pens.

This is where a quality supplier of logo printed pens will be able to help you while the promotional product clearing houses are only there to take your money. The lesser companies will not be able to offer informed advice about the different qualities of the pens they sell.

A quality supplier of personalised pens will know which of the inexpensive pens perform well and which costlier pens perform poorly.

You can call them on the phone and get a live person during normal business hours. They will be meticulous during the whole process of ordering your logo printed pens, because they know that if everything is perfect and you are completely satisfied they most likely have a long-term customer.

Competency and quality are two traits that you don’t want to skimp on in a promotional products company supplying you with marketing tools that can make or break your campaign. It’s not hard to find a promotional product supplier that has these positive traits and more when ordering your corporate pens, it all starts with an answered phone call.

Remember, in the end it is your name that eventually goes on the pen, not theirs.

Promotional Pens Are The Staple Of Promotional Products

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Sometimes choosing what kind of promotional gift to use for your brand campaign can be a dicey task. You want the most for the money- a promotional item that is cost efficient, tasteful, and will come across the eyes and hands of as many people as possible. If these are the things you are looking for in a promotional giveaway item (and who isn’t?) then promotional pens just may be the perfect item to enhance your advertising or brand-awareness campaign.

Small, useful and relatively inexpensive, logo printed pens are a powerful tool for getting the message of your organisation to the masses without putting a huge dent in the marketing budget.

There are corporate pens available for any type of brand campaign and budget, from simple plastic cap-top pens to elegant executive promotional pens. It all depends on what your organisation does and how much money you want to spend. If you deal with mostly higher-end clientele, a plain plastic pen will likely wind up hidden away in a drawer or in the bin.

Consider the intended recipients when choosing the style and materials of your promo pen- an attractive and well-designed promotional pen is much more likely to be kept on the desktop and used daily, giving you maximum exposure. A good quality promotional pen is also more likely to pilfered by recipient’s associates, which puts your message in front of the eyes of more than one person.

It is very important to get samples of various logo printed pens before making a decision.

Why?

It needs to be tested by you for reliability and ease of use. A logo printed pen that writes smoothly, is easy to hold and is long lasting. One can buy the most attractive promotional pen available; however, if it is uncomfortable to write with, stops working properly after a relatively short amount of time, or both, the pen will be thrown away where it will be seen and used by nobody.

Your precious marketing money has then been put in the bin right next to your attractive and faulty promotional pen.

A quality promotional gift supplier will be able to send you samples of various promo pens without issue. The supplier will also be experienced with most every pen that they sell and be able to steer you to the best quality promotional pen within your marketing budget.

Get started with promoting your club, charity or business by ordering samples and getting your next big promotional under way today.

Promotional Pens Cost Less From Specialist Pen Suppliers

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

‘Small is the New Big.’ Seth Godin.

This famous quote by one of the world’s most famous inspirational bloggers is particularly true in the promotional gifts business.

Back in 2000 I launched the UK’s first promotional pens website promotionalpens.co.uk and have got to know that part of the promotional gifts business better than most.

My goal at the time was to create a promotional pens business that did not play by the same set of rules as the more traditional suppliers. All sales were to be over the internet and large show rooms and expensive sales reps were a big no no.

I learned way back then that small is the new big. Unfortunately, I didn’t have Godin’s foresight to put it all into words and sell millions of books.

These days, in order to be truly competitive and offer the best service, you need to be small! Tightly run businesses do not have the overheads as larger, more traditionally run promotional suppliers do.

Put simply, we can sell for less! Give or take a few, we all have the same suppliers. We attend the same trade shows and pay the same prices for the goods we sell.

Obviously those of us who sell more products for a manufacturer receive slightly better prices than those who do not. This is why many promotional gifts suppliers specialise in certain products.

It is funny how often I hear from new customers who are just now finding this out. They find themselves on my site and realise they have been paying way too much over the years simply because they have been receiving printed brochures from larger suppliers for years.

The fact is, if a promotional gift supplier still has sales staff on the road, a show room and larger trendy offices, they cannot possibly compete with the new online businesses who specialise in certain parts of the business.

Promotional pens are the UK’s most popular business gift. If you are considering using promotional pens to promote your business or organisation, you owe it to yourself to check prices carefully. You may be surprised just how much prices vary between the specialist suppliers and their more traditional one competitors.

This same rule applies to most of the promotional merchandise sold. Some suppliers may specialise in clothing and embroider onsite. Others may have great relationships with Chinese manufacturers for this or that product.

Look for the suppliers who specialise in the product or products you require and you will save a lot of money.

What to Print on Your Promotional Pens

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Promotional pens only promote well when they are printed to promote!

Sound obvious?

You may be surprised at how many pens there are out there that are not getting the results.

Often this is because the company ordering the promotional pens left things a bit late. Due to tight lead-times and inadequate logo artwork, they settle for just printing text. Boring!

Another mistake that people make is trying to print too much text. There are many promotional products that can be printed with a lot of text but pens are not one of them.

The other day I received a sample pen from Susan. Susan had just taken over marketing from a colleague who had just retired. She sent me the pen because she did not know who the supplier was and wanted to order the same pens.

I recognised it immediately as the Senator Super Hit Pen. Senator is a well known and respected manufacturer of promotional pens. It is no wonder she liked the pens as they are one of the best selling writing instruments in the world.

The pen she sent me, however, was clearly not achieving its full potential.

It was printed with eight lines of text. This included the company name – printed very small and then a strap line along with the company’s address, email address, website address, telephone and fax number. All this information was printed so small I really had to struggle and squint to read it.

I went to work giving the Super Hit Pen a new design layout. Susan did not have her logo in the correct format so I had it redrawn. This is a service that most promotional gifts suppliers should be able to do either free of charge or for a very small fee.

Susan’s logo was quite attractive, narrow and long. I decided to show it on the clip. Then we took here strap line, telephone number and web address and showed them printed on the barrel in a trendy font.

If someone needs your physical address or fax number, they can find it on your site. Print these details on your pen and you are using up valuable print space for what will most likely be small returns.

I emailed here a PDF proof of the pen with its new design and she loved it. It promoted her company logo and made it possible for people to read the advertisements easily and without the need to squint.

When building your brand with promotional pens, it is a good idea to keep the message simple and easy to read. And by all means, get that all important logo printed on them for all to see and easily recognise.

It really does not take much to get amazing results from your promotional pens. Look for good quality smooth writing pens. Then print them with easy to read text and you’re off!
