Promotional Metal Pens - The Churchill Pen

The Churchill is a very popular low cost promotional metal pen

A major part of our new anodised aluminium range of promotional metal pens is the Churchill pen. Today I have written over 3000 words with this promotional metal pen and I love it. It not only looks great, it also writes just as smoothly as many more expensive pens.

This will of course be important to many – writing by hand keeps the creative juices flowing and you cannot do that with a sub-standard promotional pens!

Promotional Churchill pens are manufactured out of aluminium that has been anodised and lacquered so that the metal is very strong but does no have the high price tag of more expensive metals. I have seen similar promotional metal pens that are quite a lot more expensive but do not write nearly as well.

These aluminium metal pens are sure to get noticed by your clients. If you are looking for personalised pens that are a step up from your standard plastic pens, why not ask for a samples and check out the Churchill for yourself? We keep them in stock in all of the colours and would be happy to send you samples in the colours of your choice to try.

Here are a few facts about Churchill metal pens you might like to know;

1.) Aluminium is much lighter than other metals such as stainless steel and brass. Many people like this as they are used to writing with lightweight plastic pens at work and at home.

2.) Churchill pens are mid-range pens. You can still order them for under a pound. Add a nice gift box and you will be giving your clients a long lasting, stylish pen that looks a lot more expensive than it really is!

3.) These popular promotional metal pens come with a black ink refill as standard. This is good as many businesses insist on only using black ink.

4.) There are two print areas on the Churchill pen. One is 25mm x 20mm inline with the clip which is ample room for a logo and some text. There is also a print area to the side of the clip that is perfect for a telephone number or web address.

5.) The Churchill metal pen is available in four bright on-trend colours including black, red, navy and green. You can either print on the surface or engrave. Both personalisation methods look spectacular on these metal lacquered pens!

If you would like more details about Churchill promotional  metal pens or any of the hundreds of pens in our range, please contact us today on 01642 782455.

Promotional Metal Pens- A Look at the Low Cost Calypso Pen

Promotional metal pens - The Calypso pen

You simply must see this amazing value metal pen for yourself!

Promotional metal pens have a perceived high value. They just do. People love receiving them and using them especially if they write smoothing and look really good. If you are on a tight budget but still want to hand out nice promotional metal pens to your customers, you should take a look at the popular and very stylish Calypso metal pen.

The Calypso metal pen is manufactured in lightweight anodised aluminium. In short, anodising is a process that makes the aluminium stronger and allows for special bright on-trend colours that have only recently been possible. You can either print the metal Calypso pens or they can even be engraved for a permanent and more traditional look.

If you choose to print these colourful and attractive promotional metal pens, it couldn’t be easier. At Promotionalpens.co.uk we have this down to an art form. Printing onto metal pens is a difficult process.

Each of the promotional metal pens must be hand wiped so that they are completely free of dust. Once they are printed, they must be allowed to dry on special shelving units for at least three days under specially designed heaters. This ensures that the print lasts for a very long time

As promotional metal pens go, the Calypso offers two very nice sized print areas which are both on the barrel. One of the print areas is 40mm x 20mm and is in line with the clip and the other is on the back of the pen which measure in at 57mm x 18mm.

Calypso pens are supplied with black ink refills. I have written extensively with them and can highly recommend these promotional metal pens for their smooth writing. They are both lightweight and comfortable to write with.

As I write this article, I have just supplied 10000 to a customer for a series of events they are doing over the next couple of months. They received the pens and were vary happy with them. They were especially happy about the price. You can purchase as few as fifty of these pens for around £1.50 each or purchase larger quantities and watch the price drop fast.

My customer purchased their Calypso metal pens for only 53p each! For a few pense more, you could even hand your clients one of these pens in nice gift box or pouch.

So what are you waiting for? Would you like to order a sample and see for yourself what all the excitement is about? Then give us a call today on 01642 782455!

Promotional Plastic Pens vs Promotional Metal Pens- A Look at Both

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
Promotional metal pens

The Electra aluminium pen is low cost and looks great!

Often I receive enquiries from people who are not really sure which type of promotional pens to purchase for their company or organisation. There are a lot to choose from – brand name pens and fashionable generic pens – metal and plastic promotional pens. I like to recommend looking at a few options rather than just purchasing off the page so that you can really get a feel for what you are purchasing. That said, let’s look at some of the different types of pens – namely plastic pens and metal pens that could be of interest to you.

Promotional Plastic Pens

Just because a promotional pen is manufactured out of plastic does not mean it is necessarily cheap. Some of the most popular promotional plastic pens are indeed considered to be – and are – executive giveaways that carry with them a great reputation and a high perceived value. Don’t steer away from plastic just because you are worried about how some people may perceive them!

Parker Pens, for example offer the Parker Vector Rollerball pen and the Parker Jotter pen.  Both of these promotional plastic pens are also available as metal pens but it is the plastic versions that really sell!

Lamy Pens – a popular pen manufacturer in Germany also supply a nice range of executive plastic pens.

Generally speaking, if you hand someone a cheap plastic pen that you are not proud to hand out, they probably will not use it much. Such plastic pens, however, are perfect for one day events and they are very popular with charities and banks that have a large audience to consider.

If you are purchasing personalised plastic pens for a small business you will want to look at some of the pens either by the before mentioned companies or possibly less expensive but very good quality pens by Senator Pens and Prodir Pens.

You could also consider printing your logo and details onto good quality generic pens.  These tend to be less expensive and many offer great value for money.

Promotional plastic pens that write smoothly, are nice to hold and look good will get used and promote your business for what could be a long and successful promotion.

Promotional Metal Pens

Metal pens have a higher perceived value though they are often less expensive the plastic options. If would like to give your customers promotional metal gift pens but you are on a tight budget you should check out our anodized metal pens such as the new and very popular Electra Metal Pen. the Clio Metal pens and the infamous Calypso metal pen.

Anodising is basically a process that allows aluminium pens to be coated with a accelerated oxide layer which increases the hardness of the aluminium. The finish looks absolutely spectacular!

The resulting metal pens are much less expensive than they look. These pens can be printed or engraved with excellent results.

If you are looking for more expensive promotional metal pens, you cannot go wrong by choosing the brands that are known for their stylish designs and attention to quality such as Parker metal pens, Cross pens, Waterman pens and the UK’s new favourite Lamy!

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or if you would just like a quick quotation or sample on 01642 782455.

Promotional Pens Work Wonders for Promoting Businesses

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Promotional pens are some of the best promotional tools for business promotion. Do you want to use them to effectively promote your brand? You are only limited to your own imagination.

Logo printed pens have been used for decades as selling tools for both existing and new customers. When you give away a good quality plastic or metal pen, people realise that you have gone to some investment to promote you company. They will keep them for as long as they write well and not toss them in the bin as they would less useful and unwanted advertisements.

Promotional pens act as a brilliant introduction to potential clients. But it should also be noted that pens have a way of changing owners. They get passed on, usually unintentionally from person to person reaching even more people than your original contact.

If you are managing a retail business, be sure to set a pen pot on the counter with your logo printed pens in it for customers to take and remember you by.

If you promote your business to the general public, think of all the places you have been and might have needed a pen. Leave some of your promotional pens in banks at the counter and near the register at super markets, shops and restaurants.

It could also be a good idea to establish good relationships with other businesses and organisations. Offer a number of promotional pens to your local hospital, pub, school and market. Anywhere people need pens, get your pens into their hands!

Most promotional plastic pens can accommodate at least three lines of text and a logo. Be sure to get your most important information onto the pens first such as your business name, telephone number and web address. These details will help entice people to visit your website or give you a call.

Trade shows, exhibitions and graduate fairs are all excellent places to give away your free promotional pens. Offering prospects a nice pen or two can help set your business apart from those who simply hand out their brochures and business cards.

Personalised logo Pens not only promote your corporate information but they are a useful product that people will want to keep, usually on their desktop where your information will be seen regularly.

Order good quality pens that write smoothly and look good will achieve the best results. Order samples today to find the best pens for your business.

Printing Promotional Metal Pens is a Specialist Job

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Promotional metal pens don’t always look good for long.

I love to tell this story. It is a story or a customer lost who then came back after a rather bad experience.

Robert had been a good customer for over five years. I gave him competitive prices and tried to offer the best service humanly possible.

One day Robert asked me to quote for 1000 metal gift pens printed one colour. I had the price over to him within minutes and then waited for the order that usually followed.

This time it wasn’t to be. After not hearing back from him for a few days, I decided to phone.

‘Uh – Sorry mate. Your quote was substantially higher that another promotional gift company and your five day lead-time was too long. I needed them in two.’ Came his reply.

Feeling a bit hurt, I made sure he realised there were no hard feelings, dusted myself off and went back to work.

Not all promotional pen suppliers know that metal pens take substantially longer to dry when printed than plastic pens. Though you may find them offered on some sites as express printed pens, you would be best not to do so.

Before printing metal pens, they must first be hand wiped to remove all the dust and then placed one by one on the printing machine. This is a very labour intensive job but it is an essential job.

After that the pens must be placed on shelves so that they are not touching to dry for four to five days. If each of these steps are not followed, the ink will begin to chip off the pens.

It is also essential that the best quality inks are used. This ink is more expensive but worth every penny!

Unfortunately for Robert, he had to find all this out the hard way. Within days of receiving his pens which he was handing out at a trade show, the ink began to peel off.

He had paid his supplier up front and is still fighting them to this day to return his money.

If there is one thing I hope you take with you from this article, it is that printing metal pens is a specialist job. There are many suppliers who cut corners to keep the price down. The savings, however, do you little good if your logo and details peel off the pens.

Have you every experienced problems with metal promotional pens you ordered. Nice quality metal pens are an excellent way to promote your business. Be sure to order printed samples to ensure you are purchasing from a good supplier.

5 Essential Steps to Purchasing Generic Promotional Pens

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Everyone knows the brand names Parker, Bic and Cross. If you have purchased promotional pens for your business you may also have heard the names Prodir, Senator and Lecce. These are the name brands that we all trust to write smoothly and consistently. We know that when printed with our logo and contact details they will not let us down. But what about all those lesser known brands out there? Are they worth looking at?

The answer is yes. There are some very good quality pens on the market with names that few have heard. Often these pens are quite a lot less expensive than the major brands. Sometimes the reason for this is that they are simply cheap inferior pens but not always. Follow these five tips that will help you find a great generic pen and save your business a lot of money.

1. Ask for Samples

Pens can look a lot different in reality than they do in glossy catalogues. You can also not tell how well they write. Ask for samples of pens that interest you. Plastic pens are usually free of charge where metal gift pens may be chargeable.

2. Test Your Samples

The most important part of a pen is not the outside but the inside. Write with your samples and have your work colleagues do the same. If time allows, write with them for a few days so that you can place and order with confidence. Giving your customers pens that write poorly or not at all can do your business more harm than good.

3. Check the Print Area

Some of the most popular generic pens in catalogues look fantastic but have small print areas. They feature stylish curves and thin or curly clips but offer no real space to promote your brand. Don’t be let down at the last minute! Think about what you want to print and ensure there is enough space to print it.

4. Think About the Colour of the Refill

Brand name pens often offer a choice of refill colours. These pens are often made to order. Don’t assume that you can have the refill colour of your choice with imported generic pens. Most of these Far East imports are manufactured in bulk and supplied with either blue or black ink refills. Rarely is there a colour choice.

5. Shop Around

Large promotional gift suppliers and those that are a bit top heavy for modern times are more expensive. They need to be as they have higher overheads. You will usually find the same pens online from smaller promotional pens specialists for a lot less. Look for promotional pens websites not just one stop shops for promotional gifts. Promotional pen companies sell more pens and get lower prices from their suppliers. If they are smart, they pass the savings on to you.

5 Very Effective Ways to Promote Your Business

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Reaching new customers and developing your brand are crucial to growing your business. Effective promotion takes time and work, but it doesn’t need to be difficult or expensive. Here are five popular and effective ways to reach people and promote your business without spending a fortune:

Twitter

With over 100 million users, Twitter provides plenty of tech-savvy consumers looking for relevant news about products and services. Many people use Twitter to research companies they are interested in doing business with. Developing a Twitter following is an efficient way to give your business credibility. Tweeting relevant information regularly, following others and re-tweeting will attract abase of followers quickly.

Facebook

Facebook estimates that it has over 130 million registered users, and people continue to sign up every day. You can’t afford not to be there as well. Start by connecting with your existing customers. As they “fan” your page, they will be promoting your business to all their connections. You can also share company news or special offers through Facebook pages or groups.

Blogs

A blog provides informational content about your business, and can improve your rankings in the search engines. This means customers are more likely to find your business when searching online for products and services. Allowing visitors to comment on your blog can keep them coming back for repeat visits. Blog articles that provide detailed and unique information can turn prospects into customers.

Commenting On Other Blogs

Leaving comments on other blogs increases your visibility, and helps develop your brand as an authority in the market. If the blog allows signature links, you can provide a link to your website. Leaving meaningful comments on other people’s blogs invites people to click on your signature link to learn more about you. This is a highly effective method, especially when you post on blogs closely related to your industry.

Promotional Pens

Placing a logo-printed pen in a prospect’s hand is also an effective way to build your brand and promote your business. They do not need to be expensive, but they do need to be good quality. Pens that dry up or that don’t write will send the wrong message to your prospect. For high-quality, low-cost pens check out Senator Pens, Prodir Pens and Lecce Pens. People keep and use pens that are comfortable to hold and a pleasure to write with. A quality pen with your logo on it will keep your business in front of the prospect long after the trade show or event.

Promotional Pens * Why You Must Consider the Print Area

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Promotional Contour Pens

We can now print much larger on the Contour Pen. This is a UK favourite!

Logo printed pens are available in thousands of different styles and price brackets. Given the large choice, it is often easy to choose a pen without realising its negative attributes. Just because a promotional printed pen looks fantastic and writes great does not necessarily mean it is the best pen for your business marketing.

Take Steve Lindley, for example. Steve approached a business gift supplier looking for a unique and good quality promotional plastic pen to use at an exhibition his business was planning on exhibiting at.

He found an amazing value plastic pen and returned to the office, pen in hand to show everyone in the marketing department.

Everyone loved the pen too. The dark green trim colour matched the perfectly and it appeared to be a lot of pen for the money!

Steve was asked to prepare the logo and design to be printed onto the pens. He also ordered 10000 of the promotional pens. They had five exhibitions planned that year and it would be good to purchase in bulk and save money.

Business being business, Steve became busy with other work and put the design off. He realised that he had plenty of time as the exhibition was not for few weeks. In the mean time, promotional pen suppliers ordered in the 10000 of the German made pens to ensure they were ready to be printed when the artwork arrived.

When Steve eventually got around to the design work, he set the logo and contact details. He also decided to add the company strapline and then emailed the design to the supplier.

Unfortunately, Steve was very disappointed with the response he received. Within a couple of hour of sending design to his pen supplier he received an email from the supplier’s design team.

The pen only had a 35mm x 5mm print area.

Although the company logo would fit nicely into the space, it would be impossible to print all of the other details legibly. There simply was not enough print space to do so.

Steve tried to blame his supplier but the print area of the pens were printed in the suppliers catalogue as well as online. He simply did not bother to read the information.

There was, however, another print area on the reverse side of the pen that could be used for the additional details. This meant additional expense but it was really the only way forward.

Had he known what he wanted to print before he chose and ordered the pens, his supplier could have recommended a better pen for the job. Pens often do not have large print areas but some have a lot more space than others

Such problems can happen often when people do not consider what they need printed and choose a pen accordingly.

It is essential that when you are using promotional pens in your marketing, that you consider not only the style and quality of the pen but whether it offers enough print area to carry your message.

Promotional Pens are Effective Marketing Tools

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010
Promotional Contour Pens

Promotional Contour Pens are a UK best seller! We sell them for less.

Did you know that one of the least expensive ways to promote your business is with promotional gifts?

It’s true – many studies have looked into the effectiveness of promotional products and statistics show they get excellent results for relatively little spend!

This is especially the case with promotional pens which are both useful and portable. Good quality logo printed pens will literally get your contact details and logo into your target customers’ hands.

Promotional pens have a proven track record with companies in almost every business sector. From restaurants hoping to promote their location to IT companies selling their wares and services, printed logo pens get the message out.

If you are on a tight budget, you will be happy to know that there are literally hundreds of good quality budget pens available. Notice I stressed ‘good quality.’ There are also a lot of bad quality budget pens on the market that could do you more harm than good.

I therefore always encourage people to ask for samples and test pens before placing an order.

Promotional plastic budget pens are very popular at exhibitions, trade shows and conferences. I could recommend hundreds of generic plastic pens that are of excellent quality. If you are looking for name brands, you can’t go wrong with the pens manufactured by Prodir, Senator, Lecce and Bic.

If you are looking for executive gift pens for your top clients and employees, check out the range of pens manufactured by Lamy – a personal favourite. You could also go more tradition and look into top brands such as Parker, Cross and Waterman.

Most promotional gift pens are supplied in presentation boxes but not always.

I think nice gift pens look better presented in a nice case so you may want to confirm that your gift pen of choice does before placing an order. Of course, presentation cases, if not supplied as standard, can be added to your order.

There really are so many nice pen to choose from. It would not be possible to describe them all here in one article. Take some time to find the best online and by all means compare prices.

Promotional pen suppliers with websites dedicated only to pens are usually going to offer the lowest prices on the most popular pens.

If there is one bit if advice I hope you take away with your, it is that you really test your samples pens. Pass them around the office to your work colleages and get their input.

If you really like a pen, chances are your customers will too.
